Are there any age restrictions to enter the event?

There are no age restrictions for attendees. However, some of our programming may not be suitable for younger children. Our recommended minimum age is 11. Attendees under the age of 18 attending BroadwayCon without a registered parent or legal guardian must bring a signed and notarized permission form when they check in. Children under five may attend for free with a registered parent or guardian.

Do I need parental permission?

Attendees under the age of 18 attending BroadwayCon without a registered parent or legal guardian must bring a signed and notarized permission form when they check in. The form can be downloaded here. Children under five may attend for free with a registered parent or guardian.

Why do you need my shipping address?

We’ll be mailing all BroadwayCon badges to our attendees approximately three weeks prior to the event. When purchasing your ticket, you’ll be asked for your mailing address. We’ll send your credential in the mail, and you’ll be able to bring it with you to check-in on-site! Just scan your badge at one of our kiosks, and you’re free to explore the rest of the convention! (Please remember your badge! There will be a $25 fee for replacing a lost or missing badge on-site. Tickets purchased after December 22, 2017 will also be subject to the $25 on-site pickup fee, so be sure to buy your tickets early!)

What do I need to check in?

This year we will be mailing badges to all attendees registered by December 22, 2017. In order to check-in for the event you will need to bring your badge. (No confirmation email needed!) Your badge will be activated at check-in and must be worn at all times during the event. There will be a $25 fee for replacing a lost or missing badge on-site.

Is it possible to change or cancel my ticket?

Tickets may be transferred or upgraded by modifying the ticket information. Follow the instructions here to change your ticket type and here to change your personal information. If you need to change your mailing address, please do so before December 22, 2017 when badges will be mailed out. Please note that all sales are final. Additionally, while tickets can be transferred, if you purchase from another source, you risk buying a counterfeit or invalid ticket. BroadwayCon is not responsible for tickets purchased from unofficial sources.

Can I pay for my ticket in installments?

BroadwayCon has partnered with Affirm to offer easy monthly payments for your tickets! Choose your tickets, select Affirm as your payment method at checkout, and split your purchase into easy monthly payments (subject to approval). Get your tickets right away and pay over time. For all the details, visit: affirm.com/faqs.

Why am I being charged additional fees?

This year, in order to expedite the check-in process and further secure your ticket purchase, we will be introducing RFID badges mailed directly to all attendees who purchase tickets by December 22, 2017. When you arrive on site you will scan your badge to activate it. That’s it! Then you are free to explore the convention. Please note: There will be a $25 fee for replacing a lost or missing badge on-site. Tickets purchased after December 22, 2017 will also be subject to the $25 on-site pickup fee.

Is BroadwayCon accessible to people with disabilities?

Absolutely! We strive to make our events accessible to all attendees. When you purchase your ticket, you will be prompted to give us more information about your specific needs so we can better tailor our services. We urge you to provide information about anything that you consider relevant, including (but not limited to) if you are hard of hearing, low-vision, have mobility impairments, or need a quiet place to rest during the convention. More information about our policies can be found here.

Can I volunteer at BroadwayCon?

Absolutely! We couldn’t have this event without our volunteers team. Please email volunteers@broadwaycon.com for more information.

How do I become a vendor?

Email vendors@broadwaycon.com and a team member will be in touch.

Does my ticket include all BroadwayCon programming?

Yes, your entire BroadwayCon experience is included in the cost of your ticket. The majority of our programs are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Select events (workshops, autograph sessions, and photobooths) are included but require advanced registration. Information about applying for these events will be made available when our programming schedule is announced.

How does seating in the MainStage work?

Seating in the MainStage is general admission, with the exception of the Platinum Pass. While the MainStage is much larger than the largest Broadway theater (we’re even bigger than the Gershwin!), there may be certain, highly popular events for which the MainStage reaches capacity. When the MainStage reaches capacity, we will stop allowing entry by General or Day Pass-holders. Gold and Platinum Pass-holders are always guaranteed a seat in the room — even when the doors are closed to other attendees. There will be a volunteer stationed outside the MainStage to help Gold passes find a seat somewhere in the room, or to assist Platinum Pass-holders to their reserved seating area at the front. There is no reserved seating for Gold Pass-holders.

Can I leave the event and return?

Once you’ve checked in to the event, you may leave the convention center throughout the day and return as you please. You must have your badge to access the BroadwayCon halls.

How do I see shows during the weekend?

We encourage you to take advantage of all the city has to offer, and to see your favorite shows while you are in town. Please note that BroadwayCon programming may continue through the weekend’s matinee and evening performance times. As we get closer to the event, we will be rolling out special ticket offers through our friends at BroadwayBox.

How do I participate in master classes and workshops?

Due to time limitations, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be able to participate in these classes. Applications to participate and observe classes will open when the programming schedule is announced. The number of participants will be determined by the teaching artist and based on how much time they want to spend with each performer. The number of observers will be limited based on space constraints and in order to create an intimate, safe environment for the participants.

Will there be an opportunity for autographs and photos with special guests?

Yes, and these opportunities are free! Special guests want to meet as many attendees as possible, but unfortunately these opportunities are limited and constrained by time. To make sure no one waits in line only to be disappointed when a session is full, we issue tickets for autograph and photograph sessions. These tickets are offered via a lottery system. More information regarding how to enter the lottery will be made available when our programming schedule is announced. Gold Pass holders are each guaranteed three autograph or photograph sessions, which will be arranged through communication with BroadwayCon staff prior to the lottery. They may also enter the lottery for opportunities beyond what they are guaranteed. Platinum Pass holders are not required to enter the lottery and may attend any session they desire.

Is there an inclement weather policy?

The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions. In the case of extreme inclement weather which restricts travel for our audience, attendees with unused tickets will be permitted to apply the unused ticket amount ($USD) to a future event. This policy is outlined in the Terms and Conditions of the ticket.

Is there a code of conduct?

Yes, of course! You can read it here.

Anti-Harrassment Policy

At BroadwayCon, the safety of everyone at the event is our first priority. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to: stalking, intimidation, offensive verbal comments, physical assault, battery, harassing photography or recording, continuous disruption of panels or other events, bathroom policing, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome physical attention in relation to, but not limited to: age, appearance, body size, gender identity or expression, race or ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.

BroadwayCon is a private event, and as such, we reserve the right to remove any person from the event at any time. We ask that you abide by common sense rules to guide your behavior: If someone does not want to interact with you, don’t interact with them. If you do not have permission to touch someone, don’t touch them. We rely on your good judgement and respect for others and their property to create a fun and memorable event, and would hate for you to miss it, so please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these rules so that doesn’t happen!
